Overview Spatial and shape data represented by 3D digital models have become a central component of our archaeological datasets. Immersive visual audio interaction with these offers an intuitive way to use data. The mixing the virtual real world suits work particularly well, technologies augmented reality (AR) mixed (MR) enable this type interaction. Much past on has involved public engagement, but they also hold potential for valuable deployment directly in practice research, especially seamless integration offered MR. This review examines range experiments archaeologists are currently undertaking AR MR, it looks future applications technologies.
